Hear ye, hear ye!
Twice a year, the UGA Libraries Staff Association (LSA) conducts a one-day sale of books and media donated by UGA Libraries employees. In recent years, these sales have been joined by a LSA-sponsored Bake Sale, a sort of twofer, a Feed Your Mind/Feed Your Body construct. The proceeds are generally split between the LSA (funds to support our various LSA programs) and a local charitable concern. This time, our local partner is Nuci's Space, a worthy cause serving local body and mind.
WHAT: LSA Library Vernal Book Sale
WHEN: Thursday, April 22, 2010, from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM (or so)
WHERE: Main Library Atrium, Beautiful North Campus
WHY: Because We Love to Read.....and Eat.....
SPECIAL BENEFACTOR: Nuci's Space
The pricing structure for the sale will be as in ages past.
Mass Market Paperbacks are .50,
Trade Paperbacks are .75,
Hardbacks are $1.00,
Audio CDs are $3.00,
and VHS/DVD/Computer Games are $5.00.
There will also be a few ARC/signed copies of mystery novels available at a premium price. Come prepared to wheel and deal (and also to accept the fixed prices graciously if that's how it sorts out).
[btw, in case you were wondering about the "various LSA programs" -- LSA supports the UGA Library staff through social events, charity involvement, and other events (such as health forums). The UGA Libraries staff as a whole have done quite a bit of volunteer work over the years, much of it coordinated and/or sponsored by LSA including roadside trash pickup "adopt a highway", building a habitat house, sponsoring families at Christmas, and fundraising for various local charities, in addition to more social activities as hosting a library staff bowling team...]
